The hit Korean webtoon Eleceed is officially getting an anime adaptation — and it just locked in an April 2027 premiere date.

Hiroshi Nishikiori directs the series at DandeLion Animation Studio, with Junya Enoki voicing lead Jiwoo Seo. An English-subtitled trailer just dropped, giving fans their first look at the high-speed action in motion.

Eleceed follows Jiwoo Seo, an unusually fast high schooler who crosses paths with Kayden, one of the world’s most powerful awakened beings — who’s temporarily trapped in the body of a chubby cat. It’s one of the most beloved action webtoons of the last few years, and its adaptation has been one of the most requested in the medium.

The Eleceed manhwa, written by Son Je-ho and illustrated by Zhena, has been serialized since 2018 and is one of Webtoon’s flagship action series. The adaptation order has been a long time coming — fans have campaigned for it ever since Solo Leveling proved manhwa adaptations can headline a season.

For US fans, there’s no wait for a license announcement: Crunchyroll will stream Eleceed worldwide as part of its spring 2027 new anime lineup.

The webtoon-to-anime pipeline keeps getting stronger — following Solo Leveling’s record-breaking run, Eleceed is next in line to answer the big question: is this the next Solo Leveling?
